I must thank a dear friend who introduced me to the book 1000 gifts. She gave it to me as ag gift and with a journal.
Through Face book I've been sharing my many gifts (via my status) as I count my way to 1000, but I thought maybe it would be better to get back to blogging and sharing some of the gifts that pass through my life every day and tell some stories as I share these gifts. ;-) This is a way to document and share in the joys of life I hope you find it encouraging.
The journey of counting 1000 gifts began after a season of dark and dreary days that come with a VERY SNOWY New England winter. Days were long with 4 kids under the age of 5 and cabin fever for all of us. Oh the joys of these days; Will I truly be able to find things to be thankful for? And so the journey began....

I [am learning] how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I [am learning] the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. Philippians 4: 11-12

As for this day it was a simpler day... One with little excitement but still full of Joy. A day full of eating, playing, coloring, watching TV, an unusually and blessed trip to Walmart for some staples to get us through until pay day. I folded the laundry during rest time, I baked cookies and made dinner for a church pot luck, and the Kids were able to play outside the first outdoor play time sense the snow had come many months ago.
Mike summed up this day nicely... "I love my kids and I love my Fam-I-ly!!" Mike over enunciates the "i" in family and I love him for it!! ;-)
Thank You Lord for Today,
Megan
P.S. I highly reccomend the Book 1000 Gifts by Ann Voskamp.
